Né de parents rastas, Miguel Collins aka Sizzla passe son enfance a voir l'explosion du dancehall dans les années 80. Mais, loin d'adhérer aux paroles vulgaires et aux appels à la violence alors en vogue, il préfère rester fidèle aux préceptes que lui ont enseigné ses parents, et choisis ainsi des sujets plus culturels.

Il débute sa carrière en tant que djs lors de sound system underground, mais celle-ci prendra toute son ampleur à partir de 1995 et sa rencontre avec Bobby Digital, puis avec Fatis Burrel.

Sizzla est de nos jours l'un des artistes les plus prolifiques du DanceHall Jamaïcain, sortant pas moins de 4 à 5 albums par an, mais aussi l'un des meilleurs showmen de la scène dancehall. Ses concerts sont de véritables fêtes où il explique sa pensée entre deux tubes. Et à écouter ses propos, on est rassuré. Si l’homme vient du ghetto, et qu’il a été confronté très tôt à la violence, il reste lucide sur les qualités et défauts de l’homme de manière générale.

Get Up, Stand Up

Membre des Wailers avec Bob Marley et Bunny Livingstone (Bunny Wailer), Peter Tosh fût un rastaman fortement engagé contre Babylone (le système).

Pratiquant, arrogant et coléreux, Peter trainait une mauvaise réputation. L'étiquette de bad boy des Wailers lui collait à la peau et il entretenait bien cette image. Il dénonçait la corruption, le mensonge et toutes les inégalités. La véhémence de ses propos, ses rapports avec la presse et son tempérament en font l'image contraire de Bob Marley.

Cependant, cela n'empêcha pas à ces 2 légendes du reggae de rester amis suite à la séparation du groupe en 1974. Par la suite, Peter Tosh partira en tournée avec les Rolling Stone à travers les USA et l'Europe.

Suite à cela, la carrière solo de l'artiste est lancée, et Peter devient alors une machine à produire des hits, enchaînant les concerts en Jamaïque et ailleurs dans le monde.

Il meurt assassiné à son domicile le 11 Septembre 1987. Les circonstances du mobile de l'assassinat resteront floues.

Lors de sa carrière, Peter Tosh aura entre autre chanté "Get Up, Stand Up" dans son album Equal Rights (1977), chanson mondialement connue grâce à Bob Marley.

Def Jam, fight for NY: jeu sorti sur de nombreuses consoles, il met en scène des stars du Hip Hop US (like Snoop Dog dans le rôle du grand méchant, mais aussi Method Man, Redman, Busta Rhymes, Ice-T, ...).

Combats de rue sont donc au menu, avec la possibilité d'intéragir avec le décor.

Mais, en plus d'un système de jeu complet et sympatoche, ce jeu nous offre une Bande Son de qualité, avec une bonne vingtaine de sons tous droits venus des studios US.

Originaire de guadeloupe, cet artiste DanceHall est un véritable pyromane sur scène tellement il met le feu partout où il passe.

Le meilleur des exemples reste le concert de Sean Paul au Zenith de Paris, où le gwadada a fait sensation et pris un peu la vedette au jamaicain.
